About Us

Central Standard Performs on the International Stage!

Under the direction of Robert Mance, Central Standard is the current Central States District AA Chorus Champion and is proud to have been a representative to the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2011 International Convention in Kansas City this past July. We were honored to have placed 13th in the world. We are also proud to claim the title of 2008 and 2009 Central States District Small Chorus Champions.

Our chorus is a group of young, and young at heart, singers who strive for excellence in performance, and who enjoy the company of similar singers who share this goal. We began as a group of ambitious, highly motivated, and committed singers, and we work to maintain that original standard as new members join.

Since the Barbershop Harmony Society was originally formed as a fraternal organization, the men of Central Standard strive to foster a sense of brotherhood in everything we do. We work hard, but we play hard as well. Each rehearsal is followed by an "afterglow" where we unwind, socialize, and even sing some more.

Also, six of the eleven competing quartets contained at least one member from the Central Standard chorus. They are: 3 Men & A MelodySkylineListenUp!Vintage StockStepping Stones and Last Call.
